The Lions returned home after four consecutive away games to face #8 Prairie. While the Lions were able to win the game of possession, the Hawks were able to capitalize on a strong offensive effort, with the help of two penalty kicks. Man of the Match was Bryce Reardanz.

The JV1 team also lost their matchup with Prairie. Like the Varsity team, JV1 is trying to find an offensive spark.

The Lions started the game in good shape, and got on the scoreboard first when Ethan Fish (SR) settled the (Slava Boehm-JR) cross and beat the goalkeeper to his right. The Tigers equalized late in the first half, then took the lead in the second half, following a pair of defensive mistakes. Cedar Falls ran out the clock, and earned the 1-2 win. Linn-Mar’s Man of the Match was Bas Jordaan.

For the second game in a row, the JV1 team failed to score, but so did their opponent. Once again, the score ended in a 0-0 tie.

City High used a direct-attack, and capitalized on a long-distance set piece, late in the 2nd half, to earn a 0-1 win, and spoil the Lions’ home-opener. The Man of the Match for the Lions was Jake Voss.

In the JV1 Game, neither the Lions nor the Little Hawks could muster a goal, and the game ended in 0-0 tie.
