For the second week in a row, the Lions woke up early to travel to the Des Moines metro area, this week, to take on the #4 ranked Ankeny Centennial Jaguars. Centennial had the greater number of chances early on, but the Lion defense managed to keep their offense at bay. The Jags broke through in the 31st minute, but the Lions answered in the 39th minute when a 40-yd errant pass from Connor McSperrin (SR) beat the goalkeeper. In the second half, the Lions fought against the wind, as well as their opponent, and again managed to keep the Jags from scoring for the majority of the 40 minute period. But Linn-Mar fell behind 1-2 in the 76th minute following a Centennial counter-attack. Not to be outdone, the Lions scrapped and found a way to connect a few passes, and got a few lucky bounces, and made their way toward the Jags goal. With 0:01 left in the game, the build up paid off as two of the LM Senior Captains (Ryan Johnson > Ethan Fish) connected and got in to the Centennial scoring area; the Lions were fouled and awarded a PK, which was converted by Kody Waterman (SR), to send the game into OT. Both teams had looks at goal during the extra period, but Centennial had the edge in possession. The balance passing paid off in the 88th minute as the Jags played an entry pass into the box, and their player went down after contact. The PK shot managed to sneak by the outstretched arms of LM goalkeeper Skylar Bertsch (JR), and the game ended 2-3, sending the Varsity record to 2-5. Man of the Match was Gabe Chapa (FR).

In the JV1 game, the Jags scored in the first and second halves to win 0-2. Despite the score, the game was fairly balanced, and LM had their share of looks at goal (just unable to find their first tally of the season). The JV1 record is now 0-1-2.

For the second game in a row, the JV1 team failed to score, but so did their opponent. Once again, the score ended in a 0-0 tie.

After a morning upset win (on paper), the Lions refueled and headed across town to Urbandale High School for a first-ever matchup. The #7 ranked J-Hawks lost their morning game to Kennedy, and were ready for a win on their home turf. Linn-Mar possessed the ball early and had a couple of good chances in front of the UHS goalkeeper, but came away with nothing to show for it. Urbandale, on the other hand, took advantage of their chances and scored twice in the first half, and once more in the second, to secure the win. Man of the Match was Jake Voss.
